I will stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote the upcoming bout.

Former twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning huge paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As both boxers met for the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly happening.
