Area Law Enforcement
Around 50 vehicles have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a statement.
Police state they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.
The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Law enforcement then found multiple other marked automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations outlawing the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement state preliminary tests indicate the fluid was probably blood from a person.
"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; authorities are currently not informed of any physical harm in association with the incident," they commented.
City officials stated they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the residents for tips.
A senior political figure said the incident rendered him speechless and had to be solved promptly.
"This event hits the core of Hanau and revives the wounds of the right-wing attack five years ago," he posted on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at residents of foreign heritage in February 2020.
